Props: Hand-made 17th Century Muskets and Long Swords

Posted by The Stunt Production On May - 24 - 2009

In November 2007, The Stunt Production was tasked to manufacture a collection of 17th Century weapons for Oak 3 Film’s documentary, “Raiders of the Sulu Seas”.

Among this, we hand-made 8 muskets and a variety of bladed weapons from long swords to kris. The bladed weapons contain two types; wooden blade and steel. Wooden blades are used during closed-fights, for safety purposes, whereas steel ones are used for close-ups and the like where details are noticeable.

Research was done before the project commenced and it took three weeks before it was ready to be delivered on-set.
